Final Thoughts...
I believe that minimum wage should exist. I do somewhat believe that people should be able to be compensated by thier work ethic. I do not really believe that people should be able to be decreased in pay. Money is not unlimited in amount. America should and needs to watch the minimum wage price eventhough I believe it should be increased. If it were increased, that means that someone somewhere is losing money. I find this unfair and do believe that minimum wage must be monitored carefully.

I think there are some goods thing about the minimum wage we could all agree on as such as preventing people who may be vulnerable from being harassed or discriminated against by an employer looking to take advantage of people.
ReplyDeleteI also think that most people understand that when wages are being increased someone else is paying for it and it needs to be increased and implemented with great consideration.
The bottom line is Congress does set the minimum wage and I don't really expect that to change any time soon. But there are some things they could do to make the process better for both the employer and the employee. One thing I think Congress should do is put a system in place that adjusts the minimum wage annually based on the inflation rate or the Consumer Price Index. This would prevent the increases from being too large at one time and make it easier for companies to adjust to. It also helps the employee by giving them a raise annually instead of having to wait several years for the system to catch up. This type of system is also very clear and easy to understand for everyone.
